madefromfile collects only the information we need to provide the service, operate the website, communicate with you, and protect the platform.

What we collect

Depending on how you use madefromfile, we may collect:

• Your name.
• Email address.
• Phone number.
• Delivery address and pinned delivery location.
• Account and authentication information.
• Files you upload for manufacturing, including STL and 3MF files.
• Model configuration, materials, colours, quantities and notes you provide.
• Quotes, orders, payment status and transaction references.
• Payment confirmation images when you use a manual payment method such as CliQ.
• Messages you send to us.
• Technical information such as IP address, browser, device information and security logs.

If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we may receive basic account information from that provider, such as:

• Your provider account identifier.
• Your name.
• Your email address, when the provider makes it available.
• Your profile picture, where applicable.

We do not receive or store your Google or Facebook password.

Your uploaded models

Files you upload may contain designs that are private, commercially sensitive or personal to you.

We use uploaded files only as necessary to:

• display and configure your model;
• analyse whether it can be manufactured;
• calculate material, print time and price;
• manufacture your order;
• investigate technical or customer-support issues;
• enforce our manufacturing policy; and
• maintain records necessary to operate the service.

We do not claim ownership of your uploaded designs.

You remain responsible for having the rights or permission required to manufacture the files you submit.

Payments

madefromfile does not intentionally store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.

When card payments are available, card information may be handled directly by our payment provider.

For manual payment methods such as CliQ, we may keep:

• payment reference;
• amount;
• payment status; and
• any confirmation image you choose to submit.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• create and manage your account;
• authenticate you;
• process uploads, quotes and orders;
• manufacture and deliver your order;
• communicate order updates;
• provide customer support;
• process and reconcile payments;
• prevent fraud, misuse and unauthorised access;
• review models under our manufacturing policy;
• diagnose technical problems;
• maintain security and audit records; and
• comply with applicable legal obligations.

Who we share information with

We may share only the information necessary with service providers involved in operating madefromfile, such as:

• hosting and infrastructure providers;
• email and notification providers;
• payment providers;
• delivery companies;
• authentication providers such as Google and Meta; and
• storage, monitoring and security providers.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

We may disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect madefromfile, our customers or others from fraud, abuse or unlawful activity.

Google and Facebook sign-in

If you choose to sign in using Google or Facebook, that provider authenticates you and sends madefromfile the information you have authorised it to share.

madefromfile stores the provider-specific identifier needed to recognise your account.

We do not store your Google or Facebook password.

You may request that a linked social identity or your madefromfile account be removed as described in our data deletion policy.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Different information may have different retention periods. For example:

• active account information is retained while your account exists;
• order and payment records may be retained for accounting, dispute and legal purposes;
• uploaded manufacturing files may be kept while an order is active and may later be archived or deleted according to our operational retention rules;
• security and audit records may be kept for a limited period after the event they relate to.

When information is no longer required, we may delete or anonymise it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect customer information. These include measures such as:

• encrypted HTTPS connections;
• access controls;
• separate authentication and service permissions;
• protected production credentials;
• restricted access to uploaded files;
• security logging; and
• off-site backups where appropriate.

No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may contact us to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate account information;
• request deletion of your account and personal information where applicable;
• unlink a social sign-in provider;
• ask questions about how your information is used.

Children

madefromfile is not intended for children to create accounts or place orders independently.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as the service changes.

The version and date shown on this page identify the current policy.

Changes to this page do not retroactively alter any order-specific terms already recorded.
