Terms of service

These terms apply when you use madefromfile, upload a model, request a quote or place an order. By using the service, you agree to these terms together with the policies linked from the relevant part of the website.

What madefromfile does

madefromfile manufactures custom objects from digital 3D models submitted and configured by customers.

You may be able to:

• upload STL or 3MF files;
• preview and configure a model;
• select available materials, colours and production options;
• receive a calculated price and estimated ready date;
• place and pay for an order; and
• follow the progress of that order.

Every manufactured item is custom-made for the configuration submitted with that order.

Your account

You are responsible for information submitted through your account and for keeping access to your account secure.

You must provide accurate contact and delivery information.

If you sign in using Google or Facebook, those services authenticate you, but your madefromfile account remains governed by these terms.

Your files and your rights

You keep ownership of any rights you already have in files you upload.

Uploading a model does not transfer ownership of the design to madefromfile.

By submitting a model for manufacturing, you confirm that you have the right or permission required to have that model manufactured. This may be because:

• you created it;
• you own the relevant rights;
• it was licensed to you; or
• its publisher otherwise allows you to have it manufactured.

Manufacturing review

A technically printable model is not automatically approved for manufacturing.

madefromfile may review an order before production and may:

• ask for more information;
• ask for evidence that you have the right to manufacture the model;
• approve the order;
• decline the order; or
• cancel it under the manufacturing policy.

Payment does not itself authorise production.

If madefromfile decides that an order cannot be manufactured under our policy, the applicable refund rules are described in ourreturns and refunds policy.

Quotes and prices

A quote applies to the specific model, configuration and delivery option shown with it.

Changing geometry, scale, material, colour, quality, strength, quantity, delivery option or other production details may change the price and ready date.

The price displayed when you place the order is the price associated with that submitted configuration, subject to any review explicitly shown before production.

Ready dates

Ready dates are estimates based on the information available when the quote or order is created.

We aim to meet the date shown, but printing equipment, material availability, model problems, delivery conditions or other operational issues can occasionally cause delays.

If a material or technical problem affects the order, we may contact you before continuing.

Payment

An order is not considered paid until madefromfile has confirmed receipt of the payment.

For manual payment methods such as CliQ:

• submitting a screenshot is not proof by itself that funds were received;
• madefromfile verifies the payment against its account before marking the order paid.

For payment-gateway transactions, the verified result received from the payment provider determines payment status.

Delivery

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address and phone number.

Delivery may be performed by a third-party courier.

We may share the information required to complete delivery with that courier.

If an item is damaged during delivery, contact us as described in the returns and refunds policy.

Custom-made goods

madefromfile items are manufactured specifically for the customer and their selected configuration. They are not ordinary stock products.

For this reason, ordinary change-of-mind returns are not available after production has begun.

Failed prints and manufacturing problems

If a print fails because of our manufacturing process, that failure is ours to resolve.

Depending on the circumstances we may:

• reprint the item;
• correct the manufacturing issue; or
• refund the affected order.

Prohibited use

You may not use madefromfile to manufacture items prohibited by our manufacturing policy or for unlawful purposes.

This includes submitting misleading information intended to bypass a review.

Service availability

We may temporarily suspend or limit parts of the website for maintenance, security, technical failures, capacity limits or operational reasons.

We may also limit or refuse service where necessary to protect the platform, customers or others.

Accounts and misuse

We may restrict or suspend an account where we reasonably believe it is being used for:

• fraud;
• abuse;
• attempts to bypass manufacturing restrictions;
• unauthorised access;
• attacks on the service;
• repeated payment abuse; or
• other unlawful or harmful activity.

Our handling of personal information is described in ourprivacy policy.

Account deletion

Instructions for deleting your account and associated data are available in ourdata deletion policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as madefromfile changes.

The version shown on this page identifies the current version.

Where a specific policy version is recorded against an order, later changes do not change the terms that were recorded for that order.
